Heavenly Peach Banquet is an illustration I did inspired by the song of the same title, by Damon Albarn. Please listen to the song, as this what was brought me to draw every little thing. It's a playful song about the immortal peach tree in heaven (Chinese story). If one should ever eat a peach in the tree, one would gain immortality. The song itself is sung by lovely fairies, and I thought about LGBTQ people in ancient China, playing in the peach tree. It led me to wonder, what their stories were, and how Chinese culture, and much of Asian culture, looks down at LGBTQ. The people of the past had to hide, and in this piece, I wish them to live freely in the immortal peach tree.
